Our founder’s journey into creating Carro began with a simple love for being behind the wheel. Whether he was cruising on the road or sitting in his car chatting on the phone, he felt at home in his vehicle. This passion naturally led him to drive for ride-share companies when he faced unemployment after a massive layoff at an A/C company.

At that time, he had just gotten engaged and, inspired by his father’s dedication to providing for the family, he couldn’t bear to see his wife work while he stayed at home. Driving for ride-share companies seemed like the perfect solution. However, leasing a car through the ride-share program quickly turned into a stressful endeavor. The costs were high, and despite his numerous suggestions for improvements, his concerns were ignored by the company.

Our founder realized that these companies prioritized profits over the well-being of their drivers. Frustrated but determined, he decided to leave the ride-share industry to preserve his love for driving. He briefly worked for a hotel and later bought a box truck to become an owner-operator, only to encounter similar issues of disregard for drivers’ welfare.
